The frozen MMM accounts has caused tension in the country as participants who invested in the scheme are waiting for the scheme to 'unfreeze' the accounts so they could pull out their funds.
The Mavrodi Mondial Movement known as MMM is the most prominent of the ponzi schemes in Nigeria. It was the rave of the moment in the country as thousands of Nigerians invested in the scheme because of the interest it yielded.
Following its suspension, other ponzi schemes sprouted with promises of profitable yield within a short time frame. Ultimate cycler is one of the other ponzi schemes patronised by Nigerians. Many Nigerians are still waiting for January 14, the day stipulated for the accounts to be unfrozen.
The introduction of bitcoin into the ponzi system made Nigerians more agitated as they are skeptical about the frozen accounts and are unsure of making new commitments. MMM subscribers have been charged to make campaigns both online and offline to promote the scheme and drive traffic so that things can go back to normal when the handlers unfreeze the account.
Although many participants are doubting the return of the scheme even though they are not ready to get mocked by non-participants. However, an online feud broke out between MMM participants and an Ultimate cycler member when the MMM campaign was ongoing.
