57-year-old Ralph Stanley Elrod Jr, the man accused of killing 2 Georgia Deputies when he fatally shot both of them at his home could face death penalty.
39-year-old Deputy Daryl Smallwood and 41-year-old Sgt. Patrick Sondron were both gunned down upon approaching Elrod’s home while responding to a report that he used a rifle to threaten two young men who were riding a motorcycle and a four-wheeler near his property.
District Attorney David Cooke announced Thursday that his office will seek the death penalty against Elrod Jr, a news outlet reported.
Prosecutors say he could face the death penalty if convicted after he was indicted this week on murder and aggravated assault charges in the November deaths.
