Police Arrest 8 Persons Over Alleged Attack On Gov Al-Makura

Tanko-Al-Makura2The Nasarawa state police command has arrested eight persons allegedly involved in the attack on Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura on Friday, December 4, at the final interment of the late Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Mohammadu Chindo Yamusa II. This was disclosed in a chat with newsmen by Ismaila Umar-Numan, the state police command public relation officer. Umar-Numan said: “As I am talking to you, eight persons have been arrested over the attack on Gov.Tanko Al-Makura during the burial of the late Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Mohammadu Yamusa II.
“The police will continue to maintain law and order in the state considering the importance of peace to the socio-economic development of the state and the country at large. “The suspects are being investigated as I urge the youths in the state not to take the law into their hands.” Police arrests alleged culprits responsible for Governor Al-Makura’s attack in Keffi
Governor Tank Al-Makura was  According to reports, Al-Makura was about entering his official vehicle in Keffi, Keffi local government area of the state when the youths came at him with different weapons, throwing stones at him.
He was however quickly rushed into his car as security operatives attached to his convoy quickly intervened. They shot sporadically to scare the youths away.
The youths were said to have started mobilizing themselves after the governor and his entourage arrived for the burial and shortly after the burial, the irate youths started molesting the governor, calling him names and throwing stones in his direction.  in Keffi, Keffi local government area of Nasarawa state at the age of 70.
