Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) to make sure it fulfills the promises it made to the electorates prior to the 2015 general elections, Leadership reports. Making this disclosure during his visit to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, the former military ruler explained that his visit to the state was orchestrated by the initiatives of the present administration which is geared towards ensuring industrialisation of the state.
The elder statesman further appealed to the people of the state to support the governor in delivering good governance, while also enjoining farmers in the state and country to unite to provide food security, jobs and wealth for the nation’s growth.
He said: “I believe that Governor Ortom is sincere. He wants practical development and I urge you people to constantly remind him of his promises and but support him to succeed.” The Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose recently lashed out at the former president, saying he (Fayose) is a more important politician than Obasanjo.
