Ik Uche Celebrates First Title With Mexican Club

Former Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche has expressed delight on winning the Mexican league title in his first season with Tigres UANL. Ik Uche took to his twitter handle to express that he is still in celebratory mood despite being side-lined for weeks through injury. “Still celebrating after 24 hours, very happy to win my first title with Tigres, look forward to more” Uche wrote on social media.

The Monterrey-based side which plays at the 43,000 capacity Estadio Universitario have won the Mexican league title three times and are poised to strengthen their attack to get more accolades. French forward Andre-Pierre Gignac was also signed from Marseille to complement the strike force of the team. 
Thirty-one-year-old Uche joined the Tigres from Spanish side, Villareal having scored 36 goals in three seasons. Uche made his debut for Nigeria in 2007. He was part of the squad that competed in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana, helping the Super Eagles to the quarterfinals.
