IGP Arase Appoints Sogbeba West As New Deputy PRO

Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Sogbeba Westd, is the new deputy force public relations officer. This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja, on Tuesday, December 8, by the force spokesman, acting assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Olabisi Kolawole. The statement states that the appointment was made by the Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr Solomon Arase. CSP West, who holds a diploma in security strategies, hails from Rivers state. He had served the force on different portfolios before his recent appointment. The new deputy PRO had earlier served as a personal assistant to the former commissioner of police in Enugu state command. West had also headed the Special Anti-robbery Squad, Enugu command, and also served in Taraba state police command.
It was also contained in the statement that the new deputy spokesman had previously served in the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions in Kosovo and East Timor therefore erasing any possible doubts from his wealth of experience. “His experience in policing has seen him through in Nasarawa, Rivers and Kogi Commands,” the statement indicates. West will replace CSP Abayomi Shogunle, who is now heading the Crime Response Unit (CRU).
Recently, the gallant inspector general of police, Solomon Arase warned all Biafra agitators and protesters to The IGP, who is a peace loving man, ahead of the governorship election that took place on December 5 in Bayelsa state,  during and after the poll.
