Rotimi Martins, Nigeria musician cum broadcaster who is currently battling a penis/scrotum disease called Varicocele, will soon appear on MTN-sponsored Who Deserves To Be A Millionaire? (WDTBAM), a popular TV game show aimed at raising funds for unsung heroes/heroines in the country. A source very close to the musician popularly called Alariwo, squealed to Naij.com correspondent that representatives of Ultima Limited, the producer of the TV show, visited Alariwo in his residence recently to confirm his true health status before making final arrangements to feature him on the program.
Alariwo of Africa needs about N26million for surgical operation abroad. Reports say Alariwo needs about $130,000 (equivalent of N26m) for the surgery which will take place abroad.
The star initially had a surgery on the ailment, but suffered a relapse barely after some weeks, and ever since, has been reeling in severe pains. More worrisome is the fact that his wife is also down with a life-threatening ailment.
“That is why the producers of that program (WDTBAM) want to feature him so that he can raise part of the money needed for his surgery and also support his daily needs, since he can’t work for now. He is quite happy about the opportunity,” our source said. Recent reports had it that veteran stand up comedian Julius Agwu donated a whooping N7m for his medical treatment abroad.
