
Mrs Buhari was accompanied by Dolapo Osinbajo, the wife of the vice president, and other dignitaries. While donating food items, Mrs Buhari noted that there has been a lot of success in curbing the spread of HIV/AIDS. However, she added that there is still need to keep raising the awareness in the country.

Jaf Momoh, the chief medical director of the hospital, said that it is the first time when the administration is reaching out to them individually. According to him, the gesture will go a long way in boosting the moral of people living with this horrible disease.
He also stressed the need for more funding for the programme in the hospital as well as a bigger space for the HIV clinic in Abuja.

Earlier this week, Mrs Buhari receaved a delegation of four women who recently climbed the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilamanjaro, in aid of raising funds for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). While speaking, the wife of the president pleaded with the private sector and Nigerians in general to support IDPs in Borno state and other affected parts of the country.
