According to Fani-Kyaode, Buhari is destroying the lives of the people, crushing his opponents, silencing his detractors, discrediting his adversaries and dividing the nation. Therefore, he concluded that soon Nigerians would beg the Peoples Democratic Party to return in 2019. In a series of Tweets posted on Tuesday, December 15, the former minister slammed the Nigerian army for allegedly shooting innocent citizens.
“They are soft on Boko Haram while they kill Shiite, Christians and Biafran protesters. They defy court orders and mock the judges. They abuse power and defy the word of God. Shame to all those that have joined this government!” meanwhile, the killing of some Nigerian Shi’ites at the weekend is generating steam and wide criticisms. On Monday, December 14, thousands of members of the Shia Muslim sect took to the streets in protest over the arrest of their leader Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and the death of their members during the clash with the Nigerian army in Zaria, Kaduna state.
While people are protesting against the tragic incident, no arm of the Nigerian government has so far condemned the attack or provided insight into what actually happened. President Buhari has not yet issued any official statement on the killings.
