No fewer than seven
persons have been confirmed killed after a Female suicide bomber attacked an
IDP camp in Borno state today. Eyewitnesses say the suicide bomber infiltrated
a queue where IDPs were being screened for onward evacuation from Dikwa Local in a transit camp in Maiduguri, The attack was allegedly carried out by a woman, who was
among those evacuated to Borno State capital from the Dikwa Local Council.
The evacuees were being screened before their placement
in one of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri. According
to Channels TV, the attack also wounded three officials of the Civilian Joint
Task Force (CJTF). Thus far, no group has officially claimed responsibility for
the act, although Boko Haram is widely believed to be responsible.
